How will you make an impact in this role?

American Express’ Global Commercial Services (GCS) business offers a wide range of card and payment programs, expense management tools, consulting services, business financing and cross-border payments solutions to small businesses, mid-sized companies and large corporations around the world.?

As our customers are changing the way they work and pay, we are evolving with them by developing flexible B2B payment constructs and automated payment solutions that seamlessly coordinate into customer ecosystems. The B2B Solutions team is focused on providing flexible and digital financing solutions, value propositions, and go to market plans that address all customer segments.? This business has doubled in customers and volume over the last few years and requires focused attention on customer experience management and overall roadmap prioritization and planning.

As such, the Director, B2B Product Strategy and Innovation, will shape the strategic vision for our next generation of B2B payment, partnering closely with teams across GCS and GMNS to deliver meaningful value to the Clients and suppliers across our B2B network. This role will lead a team of product managers to drive product strategy, competitive insights and impactful innovations.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and explore B2B trends and technologies to uncover innovation opportunities for AXP

  • Develop and deploy test-and-learn strategies for AXP to evaluate potential innovations, including partnership strategies

  • Lead competitive analyses of the evolving B2B landscape and synthesize key insights to inform product line strategies and development priorities.

  • Democratize learnings to the broader B2B teams and stakeholders, including a colleague education and conference participation program

  • Create holistic B2B product positioning – including competitive, targeting, and messaging analyses

  • Work with Product and Marketing to ensure the value story messaging is consistent in materials across the product suite

  • Partner across internal teams to define the strategy and objectives for ‘horizontal’ capabilities that serve the broader B2B Solutions product line (e.g., new product constructs, payment capabilities, etc.)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Courageous thought leader with a track record of driving strategic roadmaps – from vision to detailed execution

  • Extensive experience in Commercial Payments.Experience with B2B payments is preferred

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and ability to translate unstructured information to a structured, actionable plan.

  • Sharp commercial acumen and established track record of designing pragmatic/customer-centric strategies

  • Prior experience in product management and/

  • Action-oriented, entrepreneurial spirit & thrives in a fast-paced environment

  • Rigorous and data-centric leader – able to steer towards insight-based decision making

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with familiarity presenting to executive audiences

  • Strong collaborator with the ability to navigate a complex stakeholder map and influence others

  • Track record of outstanding people leadership skills and developing high performing teams

  • Experience analyzing complex data and processes to find and drive innovative solutions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience partnering with sales/business development organization is preferred

  • MBA preferred

Qualifications

Salary Range: $150,000.00 to $225,000.00 annually bonus equity (if applicable) benefits
