We are looking for an outstanding candidate to become a member of the Evaluation team to help own and drive part of our technical portfolio for Apple Intelligence. Our work ensures that Apple systems maintain the highest standards for data quality and user privacy compliance.
Description
As a Sr. Data Scientist on the AIML Evaluation team, you will be a technical leader responsible for ensuring data quality and privacy compliance across Apple Intelligence, Siri, and other critical products. You will design monitoring systems that validate data meets Apple's rigorous privacy standards while enabling teams to measure and improve product quality at scale. This role requires both analytical rigor and robust engineering skills.
Successful candidates will need to have a passion for user privacy and superb communication skills with an ability to influence at all levels of the organization, from junior engineers to Sr. Directors and SVPs. Creative problem solving, analytical, and deductive reasoning skills are critical for this position. You should be comfortable with ambiguity and a complex cross-functional environment, requiring relentless collaboration and laser focus on outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications
7+ years of industry experience in Data Science, Data Engineering, or Data Analytics
Experience leading strategic technical projects with multiple stakeholders and directing work of other engineers and/or data scientists or as a technical lead
Strong collaboration, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Ability to solve complex problems independently
Strong programming skills in Python and SQL, with experience in data manipulation, processing, and analytics pipelines
Demonstrated commitment to user privacy and understanding of data privacy principles
Experience designing or implementing privacy-preserving data practices, compliance monitoring, or data governance systems
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s in a technical or quantitative field such as Statistics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Operations Research, Mathematics or 10+ years of industry experience with demonstrated technical leadership
Experience with analytic design and logging frameworks
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,100 and $318,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
