Business Unit/Role Specific Information
American Express National Bank (AENB): American Express’ chartered national bank. Headquartered in Utah, AENB is the single largest entity within American Express’ business, currently representing more than 50 percent of the Company’s Card Member Spending, nearly 90 percent of its lending and more than 60 percent its of revenues. AENB provides its customers with access to consistent payments, financing and savings products in three ways, including issuing and servicing charge and credit cards for our consumer and small business segments, offering commercial loans to small and midsized merchants, as well as installment loans to consumers; and maintaining a Personal Savings program consisting of high-yield savings accounts and certificate of deposit products.
The Enterprise Program Management Office brings an integrated and consistent approach to how American Express governs and executes projects, better alignment to regulatory expectations, and implementation of industry best-practices.
- Enterprise Program Management Office: As American Express grows, there is a need to strengthen project governance and execution. This project management intern role will support the execution of select enterprise initiatives that cross multiple lines of business across the company.

Support high priority cross-functional initiatives impacting multiple business units, including linkages and dependencies with groups both within and outside of AENB.
Create execution frameworks for business problems and turn those frameworks into concrete projects that drive results.
Create and maintain detailed project plans to effectively manage projects and drive resolution of risks, issues and challenges related to projects.
Help maintain dashboards, monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) and key performance indicators (KPIs), and assist in compiling thematic reports to provide actionable insights on emerging trends and systemic risks.
Prepare and/or lead efficient and effective presentations and materials and break down complex ideas into understandable and actionable messages.
Minimum Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree program in Finance, Economics, Business, Risk Management, Data Analytics, or a related field.
Master's degree candidates with an expected graduation date between December 2026 and June 2027.
A keen interest in project management, operational risk management, governance, issues management, and process risk reduction.
Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to analyze data, identify trends, and evaluate risk scenarios.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Word).
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with financial services or related industries.
Experience with data analysis tools.
Demonstrated enthusiasm and motivation for project management.
Qualifications
Salary Range: $38.45 to $87.00 hourly sign-on bonus
