Join our Sensing and Connectivity team to work on the next generation of cutting-edge Location Technologies. We build highly innovative and deeply impactful location features based on the core wireless technologies such as GNSS, Cellular, WiFi and Bluetooth on all Apple products. These are used across many of our products and are the foundation of Maps Navigation, Fitness applications & Emergency Text via Satellite - among many more. We’re looking for an individual to help us build automation infrastructure, automated tests, and tools to enhance our quality assurance processes and deliver the best location experience for our customers.

Description

The Software Location QE team undertakes special projects for the Sensing and Connectivity groups at Apple. These projects have ranged from developing data crowdsourcing systems to prototyping apps & features for future OS releases. Our team is looking for an engineer with a deep understanding of GNSS / Cellular location technologies to continue to improve the reliability and robustness of our proprietary system. In this role you will work closely with hardware and software developers to ensure features are developed with high quality and performance.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years experience in device testing or software based testing

  • Knowledge of Python coding, and exposure to relevant machine learning algorithms and novel genAI techniques that can be leveraged for automation and analysis

  • Deep understanding of QA methodologies and automation strategy

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to thrive in a reciprocal environment

  • Excellent knowledge of chipset validation lifecycle, testing methodologies, and testing tools

  • Knowledge of AGNSS / Cellular location simulations required for functional, performance, 3GPP conformance validation

  • Experience in debugging GNSS logs to triage and root-cause issues ,with development of custom analysis scripts considered a plus

  • Ability to drive cross-functional communications and understanding dependencies while also ensuring a tight timeline can be maintained

  • Experience in design and development of automated test harnesses & data analysis tooling

  • Prior experience of working in fast-paced, agile environment, with flexibility to pivot easily to support new user requirements

  • Strong mentoring skills and a commitment to team development
