Apple's Vision Products Group is seeking a seasoned Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to drive quality for next-generation spatial computing applications. You'll design and maintain sophisticated automated test frameworks that validate complex spatial experiences on visionOS, working closely with engineering teams to ensure world-class reliability and user experience.

In this role, you will be responsible for shipping world-class user experiences and act as the voice of our end-users. As a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), you will design and maintain automated test suites that exercise various features of visionOS Camera and Photos features, continuously improving system reliability.

We are looking for someone with strong technical depth, clear communication, and the ability to drive quality across a complex product ecosystem. This role requires strong programming fundamentals and automation expertise across all phases of the product release cycle. You will design and maintain automation frameworks through deep collaboration with Software Development & QA engineers, program managers, and domain experts.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ years of industry experience as an SDET or in software engineering roles with strong test automation focus

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience

  • Proven ability to design and implement comprehensive automated test frameworks for complex applications

  • Strong object-oriented programming and software design skills, preferably in Swift and/or Python

  • Excellent knowledge of test methodologies including functional, integration, and regression testing

  • Hands-on experience building automated UI and non-UI tests for user-facing applications

  • Experience with CI/CD integration and test infrastructure

  • Ability to proactively triage, investigate, and debug difficult technical and UX problems independently and collaboratively

  • Highly organized with strong planning skills to estimate, update, and communicate progress

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience working with AR/VR products and ecosystems

  • Knowledge of the Apple development ecosystem using Xcode, Xcode Cloud, and XCTest/XCUITest

  • Experience with testing consumer electronics, mobile/console applications

  • Experience bringing up and maintaining multi-device automation

  • Experience with machine learning or AI-assisted testing

  • Background with computer vision, spatial computing, or sensor integration

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $272,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
