How will you make an impact in this role?

The Global Commercial Services (GCS) US Small Business Marketing team is at the forefront of digital innovation and delivers highly engaging experiences to prospective business customers. The team strives to attract and convert new business customers through digital touch points to drive significant revenue growth for American Express. With innovative paid media tactics and creative, strategic partnerships with leading digital platforms and agencies, and a best-in-class website, the team delivers more than 50% of net new spend acquired from small business customers.

The Senior Analyst, Growth Strategy – Performance & Reporting will play a key role in driving profitable acquisition, influencing how marketing investments are deployed, and optimizing efficiency by leading core reporting, forecasting, and business planning processes. This individual will help shape performance narratives, build tools that empower marketers, and deliver analyses that guide strategic decision-making across the Prospect Marketing organization.

How will you make an impact in this role?

  • Support Forecasting & Planning: Own the monthly R&O (Risk and Opportunities) forecast and annual Bottoms-Up Planning (BUP) processes, ensuring marketing forecasts and performance trends are clearly articulated and aligned to business goals.

  • Think Strategically and Act Proactively: Anticipate business needs and identify opportunities to enhance forecasting accuracy, automate reporting, and drive continuous improvement across key marketing processes.

  • Tell Compelling Performance Stories: Translate data into actionable insights and narratives that influence acquisition marketing strategy, investment decisions, and future planning.

  • Enable Data-Driven Decisions: Build and enhance Excel-based tools and templates that streamline forecasting and performance analysis for marketers.

  • Partner Cross-Functionally: Collaborate closely with Prospect Marketing channel leads, Global Investment Optimization (GIO), and analytics partners across the team to align on performance drivers, forecast assumptions, and growth opportunities.

  • Support Senior Leadership Reviews: Prepare monthly performance readouts and executive commentary highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities.

  • Leverage TM1 and Support Marketers: Use the TM1 planning system to ensure accurate forecast submissions, provide guidance to marketers, and maintain data integrity across planning cycles.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of relevant experience in analytics, strategy, marketing performance, or financial planning.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced modeling, dashboards, automation).

  • Proven ability to translate complex data into clear insights and actionable recommendations.

  • Curious, proactive, and eager to learn, with a strategic mindset and passion for solving complex business problems.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong storytelling orientation.

  • Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

  • Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Marketing, or a related field required.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in marketing analytics, forecasting, or reporting roles.

  • Experience within digital marketing or acquisition strategy environments.

Qualifications

Salary Range: $78,000.00 to $124,750.00 annually bonus benefits
