As a member of our Worldwide Product Marketing group, you’ll represent customers throughout product and feature journeys from concept through development and launch. You’ll develop and apply insights to help infuse innovative features into our product development process. We are looking for a hardworking Product Manager to join the Worldwide PM team to lead AirPods Software. In this role on the Worldwide Product Marketing team we are seeking a skilled product manager for the team responsible for the product management and marketing of AirPods Software. You will be deeply involved in the definition of the AirPods product roadmap, and development and launch of future AirPods features. You will play an instrumental role on the team that includes writing product and marketing requirements documents, collaborating with engineering to investigate new technologies, and being the voice of the market to Apple during the development phase. Leading up to launch, you will craft product messaging briefs, guide marketing communications on the creation of product launch materials, and act as a product spokesperson in press briefings and public events. The features and changes you enable will positively impact hundreds of millions of people around the world and play a crucial role in the lives of our customers.
Minimum Qualifications
4+ years experience in Product Marketing and/or Product Management roles, including at least one entire product development cycle from concept to launch.
Hands-on experience formulating product messaging and creating outbound marketing for both technical and consumer audiences, and partnering with engineering during early research and development to define product strategy and roadmap, and with marketing and public relations to craft positioning, and define marketing activities.
Recent experience within the last 3 years in one or more of the following product segments: consumer electronics, smart watch/wearables/fitness/health industries, and/or adjacent consumer hardware, software, or operating systems experience.
Ability to drive communication with key stakeholders, the media, and public, as demonstrated by exceptional presentation skills: developing keynote addresses in an area of deep subject matter expertise, synthesizing information, applying critical thinking and maintaining composure under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
Proven record working collaboratively with engineering, design, and marketing peers
Technical track record working closely with engineering/technical teams
Strong ability to lead through influence, debate and storytelling
Experience and ability to synthesize technologies into product communication for broad audience including customers, media, analysts, and leading industry specialists
Best-in-class oral and written communication skills
Press and media experience with success as a product spokesperson on a national or global level
Strong attention to detail
Willingness to travel
A self-starter who is dedicated and demonstrates creative and critical thinking abilities
Bachelor’s and/ or master’s degree, or MBA preferred
