Description
Apple’s Sensing Hardware team is looking for an Electrical Lab Technician to assist with data collection, soldering, and rework. The ideal candidate will be be proficient with basic electrical engineering support
tasks. They need to be flexible, receptive to ideas from others, team oriented, and willing to work with technologists, engineers and others for continuing to advance technologies.
Minimum Qualifications
Proficiency with configuring and operating electrical test equipment (oscilloscopes, meters, function generators, power supplies, etc.) and must be able to actively work in a lab environment on new and repetitive tasks.
Soldering skills: J-STD-001 certification or better (focused on surface-mount microsoldering rework) and have familiarity with basic circuit design, electrical schematics, and troubleshooting techniques.
Ability to execute consumer electronics device test setup tasks, data collection, and results compilation using scripting and test automation.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with MacOS computers and digital productivity tools (Numbers/Excel, Keynote, etc.)
Ability to make revisions and improvements to Python, MATLAB, and bash scripts
Experience operating metrology & test equipment (Keyence, Instron, robotic systems etc.)
Familiarity with board layout design tools such as Cadence Allegro, Altium, or similar
Knowledge of ESD safe work procedures, and basic chemical hazards (adhesives, solvents, 3D print resin, etc.)
