Description
The Carrier Services team is the server engineering team focused on integrating Apple Retail Stores and Online with the wireless carriers for seamless iPhone provisioning and activation. Utilizing the latest technologies including gRPC, Spring Reactor, Cassandra and Kafka, we seek to provide a highly-scalable platform for our clients.
We are looking for a manager with a strong foundation in engineering project management. In this role, you will drive development of key initiatives, including new wireless carrier integrations and expansion of existing integrations, as well as drive internal priorities. You have a proven ability to solve problems, an interest in continuously learning and digging deep into the domain when necessary.
This person will manage the day to day management of project management teams, including hiring, coaching, and performance management. We are looking for someone to manage cross-functional projects by providing project leadership and daily management through end-to-end project lifecycle for all assigned projects. In addition, they will oversee all aspects of project information including timelines, resource allocation, scope, and definition.
Other Responsibilities Include:
- Manage cross-functional business and operational requirements and expectations with realistic project plans.
- Proactively troubleshoot and resolve cross-functional and business issues.
- Assist management in assessing and prioritizing projects.
- Build a strong relationship with cross-functional internal and external organizations. Navigate and execute in an environment of ambiguity and lead teams to the successful delivery of solutions.
- Initiate continuous process improvements to simplify, streamline and enhance maintenance of documentation, release cycles and trouble tickets.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience hiring Engineering Project Managers
Experience leading engineering projects
Experience with the Software Development Lifecycle
Preferred Qualifications
Proficient in collaboration tools like Quip, Confluence, Jira, Slack
Proven ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders across a variety of business units
Ability to lead, take action and provide goal-oriented direction in the face of ambiguity
Outstanding verbal and written communication and presentation skills
Experience in High Tech or Retail industry
Experience working with 3rd parties
Strong analytical capability and problem solving skills with attention to detail
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence without direct authority
