Here, your voice and ideas matter, your work makes an impact, and together, you will help us define the future of American Express.
How will you make an impact in this role?
Role Summary
The Manager, Digital Product Management role at American Express is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to help shape digital experiences for one of the world’s top brands. We are seeking a thought leader and problem solver who can blend business strategy, technology, data, and industry best practices — sweating the details to deliver effective, technology-led solutions that improve our customers’ digital experiences.
Prospect acquisition through digital channels is one of the largest investment areas at American Express. As part of the broader Enterprise Acquisition Products & Platforms team focused on Consumer acquisition, you will help evolve a world-class web application that supports the Consumer business and fuels business growth.
In this role, you will be responsible for prioritizing, defining, and launching experiments that optimize conversion, while also helping build the underlying capabilities that enable rapid experimentation and a strong test-and-learn culture. The day-to-day includes close collaboration across UX and Design, feature and epic definition, backlog prioritization, translation of features into user stories for engineering, and Agile delivery.
This role will also play an important part in advancing our ways of working by using rapid prototyping and Generative AI (GenAI) tooling to accelerate ideation, insight synthesis, journey design, experimentation, and delivery — while ensuring solutions are scalable, responsible, and aligned with legal, compliance, risk, and privacy standards.
Being part of the product team means cultivating strong partnerships across Marketing , who translate business needs into site direction and manage day-to-day operations, content, and offer strategy; Engineering , who develop and launch the features; Analytics , who provide reporting and custom analysis on tests and site performance; and UX , who design the experience.
What You’ll Do
Own the end-to-end strategy, development, and execution of new and emerging digital products, services, and technology platforms using a user-centered design approach.
Prioritize, define, and launch experiments that improve acquisition conversion and optimize customer experiences across digital channels.
Build and enhance the capabilities, frameworks, and operating model that enable rapid experimentation, continuous optimization, and scalable test-and-learn practices.
Create and manage initiatives from concept through production, engaging the necessary teams to shape rich, intuitive, and effective customer experiences.
Serve as a passionate advocate for the customer by grounding decisions in data and partnering with customer research teams to incorporate user insights throughout the product lifecycle.
Lead Agile product development processes across Lean, SAFe, and Kanban methodologies, including writing user stories, defining acceptance criteria and support documentation, and partnering on usability testing.
Leverage data-driven insights, customer feedback, and performance metrics to inform product decisions, prioritization, and roadmap planning.
Stay current on market trends, competitor experiences, emerging technologies, and evolving customer expectations to identify new opportunities.
Use GenAI tooling to accelerate product discovery, hypothesis generation, content and experience iteration, rapid prototyping, documentation, and insight synthesis across the product lifecycle.
Advance team ways of working by embedding AI-assisted workflows, rapid prototyping practices, reusable experimentation patterns, and lean product methods that improve speed to learn, decision quality, and delivery efficiency.
Partner closely with Engineering, Design, Analytics, Marketing, Legal, Compliance, and Risk to bring ideas to market responsibly and effectively.
Influence a wide range of cross-functional stakeholders and align teams around customer needs, business goals, and measurable outcomes.
Develop a strong understanding of how the business operates and where digital products, emerging technologies, and new capabilities can unlock value.
Mentor and guide junior team members, while challenging the status quo and helping the team adopt more innovative and effective ways of working.
