Description

Steiner Industries, a division of Bunzl, is seeking a Stand-up Forklift Operator/Receiving Associate for our warehouse in the North Chicago area (60646). This position will perform a variety of functions that include receiving and processing incoming stock, organizing, and retrieving stock in the warehouse and other tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and unload all inbound shipments, note, and report any damages and/or discrepancies on BOL

  • Check in product against packing list, noting, and reporting any shortages/overages

  • Turn in receiving paperwork to Receiving Clerk in a timely manner

  • Must operate an industrial forklift in a safe and responsible manner

  • Must be able to retrieve and stack product safely using appropriate equipment

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

  • Properly fill out Overstock paperwork and maintain accurate overstock

  • Assist other warehouse workers in completing tasks as requested by the Warehouse Manager or immediate supervisor

  • Applicant will be required to do random sampling for quality control inspection and fill out inspection records. Training will be provided, prior experience a plus.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift heavy objects up to 60-75 pounds

  • Previous stand-up forklift operation experience is required

  • Previous order selector operation experience is required

  • Computer knowledge with receiving related tasks

  • Experience with handling receiving paperwork through the process

  • Be a self-starter

  • Must be dependable and a team player

  • Strong attention to detail
