Description
APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Troubleshoot and resolve complex performance issues in the iPhone Camera leveraging knowledge of operating and distributed systems. Review performance metrics from the latest software builds to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement. Utilize Apple's profiling tools to analyze the efficiency of the iPhone's Camera system and implement code optimizations which improve performance. Build programming experience, write Objective-C and C++ to develop architecture which makes the most efficient use of Apple's custom hardware accelerators for graphics acceleration and machine learning. Apply and expand on multithreaded systems and virtual memory paging principles by enabling various camera functions to operate simultaneously and ensure efficient resource utilization to deliver a seamless camera experience for users. Collaborate closely with other software teams to fine-tune and ensure alignment with upcoming camera features to deliver high image quality and fluid user experience. Work to ensure that implementation of Apple’s image processing algorithms is aligned to silicon capabilities. Use a range of profiling and analysis tools to triage problems, identify optimizations, and assist partner teams in modeling the demands of upcoming features. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $149,365 - $220,900/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or related field and 1 year of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
Experience and/or education must include:
Utilizing C and Objective-C to develop image processing pipelines
Applying operating system fundamentals including scheduling, threading, and synchronization
Using sampling and profiling tools to analyze system performance issues
Developing software which interfaces with dedicated hardware accelerators to increase processing throughput
Optimizing real-time processing to reduce latency and memory usage
Using source control systems for revision control and software review
Building software test plans to ensure correctness and avoid regressions
