We develop and manage Apple’s global real estate portfolio, lead all related capital construction projects, provide outstanding facilities and site services, develop and lead sustainability initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of all Apple facilities, including commute and renewable energy programs, and do everything we can to ensure the health and safety of all Apple personnel, facilities, and customers in our facilities around the world.

The Strategic Sourcing Group on the Places Team own the commercial relationship with our Owner Furnished Item (OFI) manufacturing partners and are responsible for cost negotiations, continuity of supply, risk management, driving operational and cost efficiencies through process or design change, as well overall project execution and delivery. The group sits at the intersection of Apple's Supply Chain Development (SCD) and Construction Development teams, and effectively balance the needs of both groups to ensure successful project deliveries. Fit out components (such as the display fixtures and wall panels) define the look, feel and expression of Apple’s globally recognized retail stores and offices. Strategic Sourcing Managers work in concert with R&D, Design, Development, Operations, Merchandising and Facilities to deliver these extraordinary projects. Together, these teams execute and launch both new and reimagined spaces used by both Apple employees and customers across the world.

We are seeking a Manager, Strategic Sourcing - Fixtures and Technology to play a key role within the Sourcing and Fulfillment team. This role is responsible for supporting the sourcing and installation of specific construction materials used in the Apple Retail Stores and managing a team of sourcing managers within the Strategic Sourcing Group. This individual will help drive the strategic vision and execution for the group. LEADERSHIP AND TEAM DEVELOPMENT
• Lead a team of highly-skilled sourcing managers, empowering and enabling them to deliver best in class products to help build out and support our retail store fleet.

• Define, prioritize, and deliver on an inspiring product strategy and roadmap for the commodities on the team.

• Oversee scope and timelines for project deliverables.

• Nurture an environment that emphasizes collaboration, accountability, and creativity.

• Develop and evolve the team's processes, values, and culture, with a focus on camaraderie, efficiency, and simplicity.

• Provide leadership and mentorship through interpersonal skills to sourcing managers, with an emphasis on coaching and career development.

STRATEGY
• Evaluate unique and complex supply chains to improve existing supplier strategy for the sourcing teams to expand the supply base.

• Develop and implement overall supply chain strategy and be expected to handle executive level relationships with supply base.

• Travel as necessary to facilitate supplier output and ensure quality specifications are met for worldwide supply base.

• Drive internal efficiency opportunities with partners for cost and schedule.

• Support new supplier on-boarding processes, with a focus on developing a global network of suppliers in line with Apple’s overall goals.

EXECUTION
• Ensure precise execution of project delivery and quality for the sourcing team.

• Run forecasting to ensure zero airfreight exposure for the sourcing team.

• Supply demand balance for complex projects and supply chains.

• Identify and drive process improvements and efficiencies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10-15 years of experience in supply chain development, strategic sourcing, or procurement.

  • Strong negotiation skills with a background in planning, leading, and executing complex negotiations with executive level partners.

  • Excellent communicator, capable of working in multinational environments, driven and motivated by accomplishing extraordinary objectives.

  • Hands-on experience in some of the following areas: product development, design, manufacturing practices/techniques, vendor management, or supply chain development.

  • Possess strong business acumen and experience managing strategic supply chains, cost models, and complex procurements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in managing distributed teams across multiple geographies.

  • A leader who possesses a strong business acumen and experience leading strategic supply chains, cost models, and complex procurements.

  • Flexibility to adapt to dynamic and rapidly changing environments.

  • Procurement, engineering or contracting experience within construction field is preferred. Experience with fixtures, millwork, wall systems, lighting and signage scope is a plus.

  • Must be a self-starter who is comfortable working independently.

  • Strong ability to influence cross functional teams.

  • Ability to toggle between strategic and detail orientated thinking.

  • Tenacious problem solving & issue resolution skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills (both verbal and written).

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $190,500 and $286,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
