The Find My Team is looking for a QE Manager to direct a team of Test Engineers and Automation Engineers who are responsible for the quality assurance of our outstanding and popular products and services. If you have validated experience supporting full-stack QE from the web to lower daemon levels of embedded software systems through the client, firmware and hardware layers, and you have experience working with Bluetooth and other communication protocols, we may have a role for you!
Description
As the QE Manager on our team, you will partner with various multi-functional HW, Firmware, Software, and other technical teams to lead the quality engineering team to ensure the highest levels are met. You will use Automation, Functional, and Exploratory Testing to accomplish this mission.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities in this role includes but are not limited to:
Managing a team consisting of test development engineers, partnering with multiple engineering teams to develop and support Find My products and features.
Creating innovative ways to automate and expand our software testing
Compiling, analyzing, and presenting test results—ultimately driving and constantly improving Apple’s product quality
Ability to support pager-duty on a 24/7 as-needed basis
Working with and leading other team members who are in different time-zones including Europe
Minimum Qualifications
BS CS/CE/EE or relevant field and experience as an Engineering Manager or a Software Quality Manager
Coding skills in C++, Objective C, Python, Java, or related OOD languages
Experience supporting HW, Firmware, Embedded, and daemon-level software QA solutions
Hands-on knowledge of communication protocols including Bluetooth and Cellular
Strong understanding of QA methodologies including triaging, debugging, automating, testing, etc.
Proven experience working with at least one of Apple’s ecosystems ie: Find My, AirTag, AirPods, Watch, iPhone, CarPlay, etc.
Demonstrated passion for quality and the ability to discuss your tangible improvements to both product and process
Ability to describe how you have mentored team members to improve their skill-sets and deliverables
Experience driving release decisions, scoping work, and driving bug convergence
Hands on experience writing strong object-oriented code including creating automation frameworks and test scripts for large scale testing scenario’s.
Track record of building strong working relationships across large organizations.
Able to work in an ambiguous and highly interdependent work environment to get things done in an efficient and tactful way
Experience creating and bringing to bear qualitative metrics and measurements
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with accessories or other HW
Web and Services QE experience
Ability to attract, retain, and grow people to create a self organized and highly empowered team
Experience owning release decisions and project scoping
