How will you make an impact in this role?
The Enterprise Digital & Data Solutions (EDDS) organization powers the world's best customer experiences and revenue growth through innovative data, digital and marketing products, and solutions. EDDS Portfolio and Program Management team (EPPM) is responsible for leading multi-year strategic programs that cut across multiple product teams as well as accelerating strategic alignment and planning across Enterprise Centers of Excellence (COE) and Technology, to elevate transparency and drive business and customer outcomes.
As Sr. Manager, Digital Portfolio Management, you will be responsible for managing the Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) process, with a focus on managing enterprise prioritization of capabilities across Amex’s digital channels. You will work with partners across GCS, GCSG, GMNS, GSG, and Enterprise Platforms, to prioritize enterprise initiatives, refine scope, assess business outcomes and feasibility, and develop a strategy to forecast and coordinate product development efforts through launch.
You will manage cross-functional stakeholder relationships and work to increase transparency and predictability in capacity and delivery. You will define strategic outcomes with BU decision makers and partner effectively across the Portfolio Management Teams, Customer-Facing Channel Teams, Marketing, Servicing, Enterprise Platforms, and Engineering teams to facilitate portfolio planning, sequence delivery of digital product development, track progress, overcome obstacles, and deliver recommendations to the senior leadership team. The ideal candidate for this role will be a skillful communicator who enjoys a fast-paced environment, puts the customer experience first, operates cross-functionally (with business, product, and technology partners), has a strong aptitude for process innovation, and influences key stakeholders into action – all while maintaining a positive attitude and sense of humor in the face of challenges.
This role reports to the Director, Digital Portfolio Management, based in New York.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive portfolio management activities for the Enterprise
Lead with a customer first perspective to refine scope of new product launches, card refreshes, lending, banking, payments, account management, credit fraud risk, Membership Rewards, dining, entertainment, and travel initiatives across American Express
Collaborate across LOBs and COEs to stand-up best in class operating models that optimize flow of product delivery across the complex digital ecosystem
Partner with Channel & Platform teams to design and maintain robust portfolio-level roadmaps through proper sequencing, coordination, and resolution of blockers/dependencies to ensure timely launch
Create and deliver executive-level and stakeholder communications for ongoing priorities, including status updates, roadmap, dependencies, pressure points and key decisions requiring alignment
Drive an improvement in business outcomes and key results by facilitating prioritization and accelerating delivery across the portfolio
Demonstrate a willingness to continually learn and implement design, product, and technologies solutions within a dynamic and highly matrixed environment
Required Skills / Qualifications:
Minimum of 4 years of professional experience working across product development and engineering teams
Strong enterprise and customer mindset with a track record of influencing others to embrace change
Demonstrated ability to self-start, carve opportunities out of white space, and design and implement new processes while operating independently
Highly skilled in Agile product development methodologies, project management, and an expert in enterprise collaboration tools (Rally, JIRA, Confluence, Clarity, etc.)
Very strong collaboration skills – ability to build strong partnerships and navigate cross functional teams to deliver on shared objectives
Superb presentation building skills with ability to “tell a story” in a clear and concise way to various types of audiences
Proven ability to lead and manage workstreams independently and juggle multiple projects in a rapidly changing environment
History of high performance and adaptability to adjust to shifting priorities and manage through ambiguity
Ability to maintain a positive attitude and sense of humor in the face of challenge
Qualifications
Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually bonus benefits
