Summary

Want to shape how engineers build with Apple's internal ML Compute platform? As a Staff or Sr. Software Engineer focused on Developer Experience, you'll design and evolve the tools that thousands of engineers use daily, from Python SDKs and CLIs to generative AI integrations. You'll reduce friction, accelerate workflows, and make complex infrastructure feel simple.

Description

The platform sits at the center of Apple's internal machine learning ecosystem, enabling access to the latest accelerated computing hardware at scale. Our team is a diverse and collaborative group of pragmatic, product-focused engineers building the technology that powers machine learning capabilities across the company. In this role, you will help improve how ML engineers interact with the platform across every touchpoint. You'll work closely with users to understand their challenges, prototype solutions rapidly, and ship improvements that make the platform easier to learn and more powerful to build on.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience

  • Strong Python skills, ideally with experience building SDKs, CLIs, or developer tools

  • Experience designing developer-facing APIs or systems with a focus on usability

  • Comfort working closely with users; gathering feedback, understanding pain points, and shipping improvements based on what you learn

  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with JavaScript/React and web-based developer tools

  • Familiarity with machine learning workflows, terminology, and common pain points

  • Experience with Kubernetes, observability tools, or developer documentation
