Summary
Apple’s Cellular Software team is seeking talented, highly motivated and well-adapted engineers to work across layers on groundbreaking cellular technologies. The position involves developing and integrating core cellular technologies that solves everyday problems for customers using iPhone, iPad, Watch and other wireless product lines. We do whatever it takes to bring user experience to the next level. In this role you will be a key member of the Cellular Layer1 Control Software team with following responsibilities:
Description
As an engineer on our team, your responsibilities will range from high-level user interfaces, to writing background processing and networking code, to developing frameworks used by other teams at Apple and third party developers. You’ll be tasked with maintaining and improving existing features and implementing new and innovative ideas for the future. You will also be responsible for delivering the best possible application performance including fast launch times and smooth scrolling. We work closely with the other iOS engineering teams, human interface designers, privacy, security and other groups across Apple and our partners at other companies. Our goals are simple but the task is large - build the most amazing home automation experience in the world that our customers will love.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors of Science or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on experience with real-time, embedded software/Firmware
Strong understanding of software engineering principles using C and/or C++, Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS) and concurrent programming.
Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills
Solid understanding of embedded real-time control, communications, information theory. Cellular call processing, DSP, communication and RF topics a plus.
Solid understanding of computer architecture with particular emphasis on the HW/SW interfaces of high-speed communication subsystems.
Experience in SW verification and HW validation utilizing scripting and/or automation frameworks with experience debugging embedded software systems using system simulators.
