Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of American Express’s US Open Banking product and strategy, with a focus on scaling external facing Open Banking APIs with regulatory, partner and business priorities.

  • Own the product roadmap and feature backlog for US Open Banking APIs, ensuring prioritization aligns with customer value, partner needs, compliance obligations and enterprise objectives.

  • Manage and grow relationships with strategic third-party partners and aggregators, supporting onboarding, integration and go-to-market execution for data sharing use cases.

  • Serve as the product lead for all US Open Banking API related initiatives, driving clarity across cross-functional stakeholders, including product development, engineering, compliance, legal and operations.

  • Collaborate closely with Government Affairs and Compliance teams to ensure product delivery supports adherence to US data-sharing regulations and related industry standards.

  • Define, implement and support operational controls, metrics and governance practice to ensure resilient and secure API delivery and performance.

  • Monitor external trends, industry movements, and regulatory developments in the US Open Banking and Open Finance ecosystems to inform internal product and partner strategy.

  • Represent American Express in cross-industry working groups and forums to help shape the future of Open Banking standards and interoperability frameworks.

Qualification Requirements:

  • 5 years of experience in either API product management, Open Banking/Open Finance, or digital financial services, preferably within a highly regulated environment (e.g. banking, fintech or payments).

  • Strong product management skills and ability to identify commercial opportunities.

  • Ability to influence decisions and drive alignment across cross-functional teams.

  • Experience in executing industry-wide partnership strategies to build innovative customer experiences.

  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to independently drive complex negotiations to completion.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills – including the ability to collaborate with different departments across product, engineering, legal internally and externally.

  • Ability to flourish and be proactive with minimal guidance.

Qualifications

Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually bonus benefits
