The Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS) organization is responsible for managing relationships with millions of Merchants and Partners around the world that facilitate American Express acceptance and enabling the day-to-day operations of our company’s payment network.
The role of the Global Merchant & Network Pricing (GMNP) team is to design and implement global pricing strategies that support our coverage objectives and optimize our Discount Revenue. This revenue stream is the single largest source of American Express’ revenue and Merchant Pricing strategies play a key role in driving financial performance.
This role sits within the Pricing Infrastructure & Business Operations team, which drives pricing agility, compliance, and operational excellence through end-to-end platform ownership, governance, and an embedded Pricing Center of Excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Owning end-to-end management of all internal and external audit engagements for Pricing, serving as the central point of accountability from initiation through final closure.
Acting as Audit Project Manager for Pricing, coordinating communications, inquiries, submissions, and timelines; escalating risks or delays; and ensuring accuracy, completeness, and quality of all audit deliverables.
Advising Pricing leadership on audit, risk, and compliance strategy, applying knowledge of audit standards, risk management frameworks, and internal control requirements to ensure audit readiness and reduce repeat findings.
Staying current on audit, risk, and regulatory developments, proactively assessing and communicating direct and indirect impacts to Pricing from enterprise initiatives, policy changes, or regulatory expectations.
Providing credible challenge, cross-functional coordination, and leadership, collaborating across business units to meet audit objectives, escalating concerns where needed
Coaching supporting analysts and maintaining oversight of Pricing-owned audit commitments through closure.
Required Qualifications:
5 years of experience in project/program management, process improvement, or root cause analysis, including experience working with internal and external auditors.
Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional initiatives and balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex processes and recommend practical solutions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated executive presence and the ability to influence at all levels.
High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Bachelor’s degree required, merchant experience a plus.
Qualifications
Salary Range: $89,250.00 to $150,250.00 annually bonus benefits
