As a Commodity Finance Analyst, you will play a critical role in managing Apple's commodity costs, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting strategic decision-making within the Worldwide Procurement Finance team. You will be responsible for forecasting commodity prices, analyzing variances, and collaborating with operations and supply chain teams to optimize costs and mitigate risks in a dynamic global market. Your insights will directly impact Apple's profitability and strategic sourcing decisions.
Description
The Worldwide Procurement Finance group is a critical function that provides analytical support for key cost data, including standard costs, forecasted costs, and actual costs for Apple's extensive range of commodities. As a Commodity Finance Analyst, you will report to the Manager of Commodity Financial Management and will be responsible for some specific commodities or categories. You will work with minimal direct supervision, performing a variety of complex and non-routine tasks that directly impact Apple's gross margin and profitability. This role offers the opportunity to work on challenging projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to Apple's continued success. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field of study.
5+ years of related finance/accounting experience, ideally with a focus on commodity finance, supply chain finance, or cost accounting.
Proven knowledge of Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills at both macro and micro levels.
Experience with SAP or other ERP systems.
Operations and Supply Chain Finance experience.
Experience with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
Experience in preparing key commodity forecasts used in monthly purchase price variance forecast and gross margin analysis.
Experience in reconciliation and analysis of Apple supply chain data to contract manufacturer and supplier data.
