Description
APPLE INC has the following available in Seattle, Washington. Optimize Apple’s public and proprietary SDKs in order to create a world-class application within our Swift & ObjC application development. Collaborate extensively with our other Siri engineering teams on new features and proposed improvements to help improve Siri’s authoring process. Collaborate with non-technical users and distill the qualitative tasks into quantitative features such as automatic translation of variant locales, merge conflict review and resolution workflow, variant automation, etc. Enable a complex set of distributed workflows and services for backend development using services such as Docker and Kubernetes. Determine contract between our data store and front end for construct service APIs. Focus on reliability and fault-tolerance to improve the uploading process for new changes made by Siri Engineers, which also involves error handling and reporting. Improve collaboration by creating a way for engineers to see and resolve conflicts with their changes, by creating and maintaining a merge conflict algorithm and resolution flow. Maintain and improve the backend services to make this possible. Collaborate with Siri translators to provide improvements to their workflow by creating algorithms to enable the automatic translation of Siri to certain variant locales. Create algorithms to surface files in bad translation states for translators to review and fix. Fix issues that arise in the translation process of Siri translators. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $166,600 - $250,600/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field and one year of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
One year of experience with each of the following skills is required:
Experience with client-side software development (ideally on iOS) in swift or Objective-C
Experience using Python in practical software applications
Experience with Natural Language Processing, such as ASR, TTS or intent classification
Creating and maintaining complex database schemas using SQL, PostgreSQL or similar
Building back-end services and state tracking to support content management systems
Proven track record of establishing customer needs and implementing solutions accordingly
Troubleshooting and bug fixing to deal with ongoing support requests
Improving self-sufficiency of software systems by implementing logging and error handling functionality
