How will you make an impact in this role?
The team (and the role) is primarily responsible for advancing the long-term Finance technology objectives via evolution and implementation of the Finance Technology Strategy and plays a key role in managing significant Technology implementations and investments while ensuring Finance efficiently deploys Technology, improves speed and automation of critical processes and increases shareholder value for American Express. The team oversees the Platform and Product roadmaps for Finance initiatives that are generally positioned as top enterprise priorities while creating opportunities for senior leadership to drive decisions against these roadmaps.
The manager will be responsible for monitoring advancing Finance Technology through:
Building a comprehensive understanding of our multi-year strategic initiatives and roadmaps
Coordinating amongst disparate stakeholders to create detailed milestone plans for various enterprise critical and top projects
Ensuring deviations to tactical and strategic product and technology deliverables are addressed and remediation plans are developed
Assisting with the articulation of cross functional product and platform roadmaps
Tracking progress against plans, milestones, and elevate delivery risks
Publishing status updates for executive stakeholders and central program offices
Ensuring stakeholder requirements are documented, and Technology story points are gathered and groomed to ensure timely and efficient Agile delivery
Coordinating with stakeholders to ensure extensive integration and end-user testing activities
Cultivating constructive working relationships with Finance Product and Process Owners, Finance Technology Delivery Leads, Product Delivery & Integration, Technology Finance, Finance Communications, and other SME’s
Minimum Qualifications
5 years of cumulative Finance process or product management experience
Advanced degree, or equivalent expertise, in Data Management, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or Product Management
Demonstrated skills navigating large, complex initiatives, solving problems, and paying attention to critical details
Demonstrated tangible experience solving challenging problems and leading complex transformation initiatives
Ability to synthesize detailed or voluminous information into clear and compelling communications
Exceptionally strong collaboration and relationship management skills
Flexibility and ability to revise workplans adaptably to meet changing circumstances
Knowledge of American Express (or large financial institution) Finance systems, operational processes, and interdependencies.
Proven ability to deliver change while minimizing corresponding operational risk
Preferred Qualification
Knowledge or experience with American Express Data platforms
Understanding of data sourcing and data management principles
Knowledge of relational database concepts and public cloud implementation strategy
Experience with AI tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT)

Salary Range: $103,750.00 to $174,750.00 annually bonus benefits
