Apple has an exciting position in our core repair business for a Service Process Engineer. The role requires strong multi-functional leadership skills and experience crafting and assessing repair process for consumer electronics. This is an opportunity to lead the development of new product repair strategy and process definition. The ideal candidate is an authority with strong expertise developing and delivering repair strategies for various channel deployments and use-cases. In this highly transparent, hands-on role you will have frequent communication and collaboration with Apple Product Design, Hardware Test, Operations and AppleCare Service Engineering partners and worldwide suppliers.
Description
AppleCare Service Process Engineers provide end to end manufacturing repair processes for all Apple products. This role focuses on new product manufacturing repair process design, which incorporates: diagnostics, repair, assembly, key parameters, process setup, and process validation. You will be identifying manufacturing equipment, automation, strategic R&D, diagnostics, test and repair needs for the organization.
In this highly transparent technical lead role, you will be working with multi-functional teams and vendors. You will need to demonstrate your ability to combine knowledge of reparability, assembly, diagnostics and manufacturing process/process controls and deliver results on a tight timeline.
Develop and detail outstanding repair processes to meet all Apple design and operational requirements
Drive innovative new service processes across all our product lines that set the bar for quality in the service industry, while reducing our environmental impact, and improving the cost efficiency of service
Manages, develops and documents processes including all parameters, and secondary operation requirements to meet defined specifications
Executive level status reports including BRR (build readiness review), and NPR (New Product Review)
Analyze data from factories, customers, DOEs, etc, to develop action plans, quality and repair accuracy decisions based on the data
Drive lessons learned into process designs and use predictive methods to anticipate and avoid issues early
Communicate multi-functionally with engineering, program management, and business teams, as the need arises for new product process development
Minimum Qualifications
BS or equivalent experience in engineering field (industrial, manufacturing, or mechanical preferred).
5+ years prior product development experience in project management.
Strong hands-on mechanical ability.
Excellent project management skills to lead all aspects of project timelines, plans, budgets, prioritization, scope, and definition.
Experience leading projects of all sizes, including large, sophisticated, cross- functional initiatives.
Excellent negotiation and conflict management skills in addition to the ability to deal efficiently with ambiguity.
Experienced in data driven decision making and confirmed critical thinking capabilities.
Communicate clearly and concisely with peers, business partners, technical staff, and leadership via appropriate medium: verbal/written/presentation.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent interpersonal and multitasking skills.
Experience developing process definition documentation (SOPs, work instructions, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of experience developing and implementing repair solutions including definition, qualification, and deployment for consumer electronics.
Experience developing repair or NPI process flows/requirements, authoring engineering specifications, and defining process validation requirements that are visually clear and concise.
Excellent understanding of system architectures for phone and computer products.
Experience in production control processes, data analysis, confirmed statistical skills.
Familiarity and experience interpreting Engineering Spec documentation and parametric data collection.
Coding / scripting skills is a plus (C / C++, Python, Perl, Unix, etc).
Strong skills in Excel, JMP, MiniTab.
Exposure to electronic manufacturing partner supplier management in some capacity.
Experience working with multi-functional teams including but not limited to, product development, project management, contract manufacturers, and field repair technicians.
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $136,300 and $248,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
