At American Express, we know that with the right backing, people and businesses have the power to progress in incredible ways. Whether we’re supporting our customers’ financial confidence to move ahead, taking commerce to new heights, or encouraging people to explore the world, our colleagues are constantly redefining what’s possible — and we’re proud to back each other every step of the way. When you join #TeamAmex, you become part of a diverse community of over 60,000 colleagues, all with a common goal to deliver an exceptional customer experience every day. We back our colleagues with the support they need to thrive, professionally and personally. That’s why we have Amex Flex, our enterprise working model that provides greater flexibility to colleagues while ensuring we preserve the important aspects of our unique in-person culture. Depending on role and business needs, colleagues will either work onsite, in a hybrid model (combination of in-office and virtual days) or fully virtually.
About Enterprise Data & AI:
The Enterprise Data and AI (EDAI) organization unites data governance, strategy, engineering, and product teams with those responsible for AI engineering, generative AI enablement, and automation product and engineering. This group plays a pivotal role in leveraging data as a core driver of innovation and integrating AI capabilities to transform products, operations, and customer experiences.
The EDAI organization also incorporates technology R&D and experimentation with emerging capabilities, along with engineering support for Amex Digital Labs. This integration ensures that research breakthroughs seamlessly translate into business impact.
At American Express, we’re reimagining how data and AI power progress — for our customers, colleagues, and the business. As VP, Cross Platform Delivery within Enterprise Data & AI (EDAI), you’ll lead delivery across some of our most strategic AI and data initiatives, driving end-to-end execution, scalability, and measurable impact.
This role is perfect for a transformational leader who thrives at the intersection of strategy, technology, and delivery — connecting vision to action across platforms, teams, and the enterprise.
What You’ll Do
Drive seamless delivery and integration across platforms, domains, and lines of business to scale enterprise AI and data initiatives.
Own risk and portfolio management — identifying dependencies, resolving impediments, and driving continuous improvement.
Translate strategy into execution, turning enterprise AI and data goals into clear, actionable delivery plans.
Lead end-to-end delivery from inception through production, ensuring measurable outcomes and business value.
Partner with risk and compliance teams to ensure alignment with data, model, and AI governance expectations.
Champion platform reliability and scalability, driving metrics, reporting, and sustainable delivery frameworks.
Collaborate with Technology and Business leaders to accelerate our enterprise “AI Big Bets” and enable responsible AI adoption.
Engage the external ecosystem — startups, consultants, and research institutions — to bring cutting-edge insights and innovation into Amex.
What We’re Looking For
10 years of experience leading large-scale technology, data, or AI programs in complex enterprise settings.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver measurable, enterprise-level results.
Deep understanding of data and AI platforms, governance, and platform health management.
Expertise in Agile, SDLC, and organizational change leadership.
Strong strategic, analytical, and problem-solving mindset — with a knack for connecting the big picture to execution.
A bold, transformational leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and fosters innovation and accountability.
Exceptional executive communication and influence skills.
Experience working with AI-driven technologies, automation, or emerging capabilities.
