American Express US Consumer Services (USCS) is responsible for our suite of consumer products, services, and experiences in the U.S., including our premium, cobrand, cash back, and lending portfolios, Membership Rewards, Global Travel & Lifestyle Services, the Centurion Lounge network, our Global Dining and Resy businesses, U.S. Consumer Banking, and best-in-class marketing programs across customer, prospect, and partner channels. The objective of the USCS Control Management Process Risk Reduction team is to drive high-impact change to mitigate operational risk, stepping in when significant issues or events occur to improve processes and controls in partnership with business and technical leaders across the enterprise.
How will you make an impact in this role?
You will be joining a high priority and high visibility program management team that touches many teams within USCS and across American Express. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing program and change management support across deliverables and ensuring we seamlessly advance the business unit to an elevated risk management model. This individual will ensure the timely and structured management of the multi-year program for USCS. The role involves critical coordination across USCS workstreams, business unit leaders, and extensive collaboration with partners in second-line, third-line, and supporting areas to ensure we continue maintaining the highest levels of control and compliance standards.
Core Responsibilities
Support an E2E cross-functional workplan enabling the delivery and oversight of project deliverables
Partner with Marketing, Product, Servicing, Compliance, Legal, Control Management, Technologies, 2LOD/3LOD and other key stakeholders
Serve as the program management function, acting as a conduit between USCS sponsors/leads and the critical workstreams delivering on project mandates
Track milestones, timelines, and deliverables across all workstreams, maintaining the master delivery plan including managing and documenting changes to plan and timelines.
Prepare regular status updates and dashboards for stakeholders, escalating risks and delays as required
Maintain the RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) log, ensuring items are actively managed, updated, and escalated appropriately
Act as the day-to-day point of contact for delivery leads, risk teams, and other contributors to gather updates, share information, and resolve blockers
Support governance activities, including reporting packages, capturing actions and decisions, and ensuring timely follow-ups
Maintain well-organized and up to date program documentation, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for all stakeholders
Execute on protocol for capturing all key artifacts including approvals and evidence of task completion to support appropriate milestone completion, in line with Enterprise PMO guidance
Minimum Qualifications
Proven experience in project management/coordination through to execution, with strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail
Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, highly complex environment and navigating between competing priorities and whilst accelerating program knowledge
Excellent written and verbal communication and relationship management skills to effectively partner with key program stakeholders to drive successful program delivery
Experience in preparing materials for senior stakeholders and committees
High level of integrity with ability to handle sensitive issues with complete confidentiality
Familiarity working in a risk and control or regulatory environment and knowledge of commercial payments industry & economics is a plus
Qualifications
Annual Range: $80,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually bonus benefits
