As an Equipment Engineer in our Advanced Process Lab, you will lead installation of new process equipment and manage new lab construction. You will be responsible for all new and existing equipment, building services, and have the ability to innovate on how we manufacture our products.
Description
Handle new area buildout, as well as maintain existing areas leveraging both internal and outsourced help to keep equipment and supporting services running efficiently. Imagine, fabricate and prototype equipment modifications to demonstrate improved throughput and accuracy, and share for incorporation into production manufacturing processes. Work closely with our internal Real Estate & Development group, general contractors, architects, and EH&S to plan expansion of our capabilities, while demonstrating a commitment to providing a safe environment to try new manufacturing processes.
This is a full time in the lab job and not a remote or hybrid position. Travel required on an “as needed” basis (training, equipment vendor visit, etc). Likely = 25% travel.
Minimum Qualifications
3+ years of equipment experience
Basic machine shop, sheet metal and fabrication skills
Basic 2D CAD skills for layout of tool install and new lab space proposals
Basic project management skills to lead coordinate new tool installation and lab construction
Ability to maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment
Ability to fabricate and install pneumatic (CDA), vacuum, and cooling circuits as needed to implement equipment and fixture mechanisms
Preferred Qualifications
Design and fabrication skills for custom work cells, simple mechanisms and upgrades to equipment
Fixture design and fabrication skills
Simple welding skills
3D CAD and CAM skills for fixture design and build.
Electrical knowledge, ability to read wiring diagrams and understand power requirements for new and existing equipment
Ability to manage multiple projects at once.
Ability to get forklift certification and assist moving light equipment and materials
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $151,200 and $227,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
