Role Number: 200662000-0157

Summary

Imagine what you could do here. The people here at Apple don't just create products — they create the kind of wonders that have revolutionized entire industries. It's the diversity of those people and their ideas that inspires the innovation that runs through everything we do, from amazing technology to industry-leading environmental efforts. Join Apple, and help us lead the future generation of innovation.

Description

Join our Database Systems Engineering team within the Fleet Operation Engineering Group — the people responsible for keeping the systems and storage infrastructure that power Apple's services running at extraordinary scale.
This role sits at the heart of large-scale storage operations. You'll own the configuration, provisioning, and health of SAN environments — designing automation tools that reduce toil, maintaining Linux infrastructure at massive scale, and partnering closely with developers, DBAs, network engineers, and EPMs to build the environments that make Apple's products possible.
If you are energized by solving complex storage and systems challenges, thrive in collaborative cross-functional settings, and take pride in building reliable, automated infrastructure — you'll find a meaningful home on our team.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, or Java, or other object-oriented programming languages

  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals as they relate to storage and systems infrastructure

  • Familiarity with Oracle software stack and/or NoSQL databases

  • Experience with version control systems such as Git

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Puppet

  • Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment with a sense of shared ownership

  • Hands-on knowledge of UNIX and Linux systems administration

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field
