DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Document Controller – Level IV to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Cummins Inc. facility in Fridley, MN.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Expert Leadership : You'll function as a team expert/lead, ensuring product specification documents are clear, concise, and valid across the organization.

  • Quality Assurance : By conducting audits, you'll ensure adherence to Product Release standards, maintaining high-quality documentation.

  • Training and Development : You'll provide information, develop, maintain, and deliver training to stakeholders and customers, enhancing their understanding of standards and rules.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration : Identifying and solving queries with internal stakeholders will ensure compliance with product requirements.

  • Process Improvement : You'll develop and implement practices and work instructions for product requirements and change management processes, driving efficiency.

  • Mentorship : Training and supporting less experienced Documentation Controllers will help build a stronger, more knowledgeable team.

  • Project Leadership : Leading and participating in improvement projects will contribute to the continuous enhancement of product requirements and change management processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Data Acquisition : Ensure samples are prepared, equipment is calibrated, and tests are performed according to approved procedures to deliver reliable data.

  • Data Reporting : Organize and present documentation clearly to help engineers and customers understand results and make accurate conclusions.

  • Product Configuration and Change Management : Establish and maintain product artifact baselines, track and control changes, and communicate effectively from concept to obsolescence.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

High school diploma, certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience is required

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience in documentation and control, engineering discipline or related field.

QUALIFICATIONS

Audit & manage compliance/certification test records and reports

Maintain training calendar and captures feedback from team members as to what additional training or processes are needed and feeds that information up to appropriate leaders to prioritize.

Maintain Product Safety Compliance metrics to track regulatory corridor progress ?

Develop common approach to document descriptions for certification & compliance

Maintain a list of monthly department achievements & challenges/risks

Act as coordinator for all field inspection/field evaluation activity

Generates KPI/Metrics which drive improvement projects within the team.

Maintains a database of released Declarations, Generates Declaration templates, generates Declarations upon request.

Writes purchase orders for TC &C certification projects with the goal of better documentation & control of total certification cost

Identifies all projects (large and small) that engineers are managing, keeps tabs on the status of the projects makings sure that the engineers are making updates to the project tracker regularly

6 Sigma coordinator: Maintain team members certification, report 6s project progress, co-ordinate hopper list evaluation

Ensures that when certification reports are revised that stakeholder (Engineering/Operations/Quality) have access to the most recent report
