DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented onsite Service Intern to join our Summer Internship Program in Normal, IL!

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Under direct supervision in a service workshop, assist senior level Technicians with repairs and maintenance on CHASSIS products and Engine repair.

  • Disassemble, clean and inspect chassis and /or chassis components

  • Provide assistance with diagnosing and troubleshooting engine failures.

  • Maintains work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation

  • General shop maintenance such as inspecting extension cords, replacing air lines, general maintenance, daily JSA (Job Safety Analysis) reports, welder inspections and daily time sheets.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Ability to work in an automotive shop / manufacturing setting, mechanical knowledge preferred.

  • Must be able to lift 35 pounds and physically lift, stand, squat, kneel frequently, wear required personal protective equipment as required and operate forklifts preferred.

  • Basic computer software knowledge is preferred.

  • Please note, this full-time, summer internship position is 100% onsite at our Branch in Normal.

  • The Program will start on June 2 nd through August 1 st (flexible based on School schedule). The hours are 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Licenses, Certifications

  • Must be currently enrolled at a College or University, pursuing a degree in an Automotive Technical Program.
