Role Descriptions:
How will you make an impact in this role?
Enterprise Data Products (EDP) is a key pillar within the broader Technology organization, driving critical initiatives on behalf of the Chief Data Officer. At American Express, we are deeply committed to strengthening our enterprise data management capabilities through sustained, multi-year investment. EDP also plays a central role in delivering the platform governance program, an initiative to drive innovation, business growth while managing operation risk for the ecosystem. Platform Governance team works closely with stakeholders across 1 st line of Defense(1LoD), 2 nd Line of Defense(2LoD) to capture the needs of managing data with focus on data risk assessment and development of guardrails, process and capabilities to support a robust and scalable suite of products to provide platform governance with transparency. This team also supports reviews and assessments by independent, internal and external auditors. The team works with stakeholders across the business and are foundational to ensuring high-quality, trustworthy, and well-governed data across the enterprise.
Primary Responsibilities:
Translate business and compliance needs into clear, actionable product requirements through deep collaboration with Privacy, Third Party Risk, and the Enterprise Data Office
Define and develop playbook for platform governance including guardrails, frameworks and operational model for the Enterprise Data Platforms
Drive product adoption by educating data practitioners and business users on the governance processes with focus on value creation while managing data risk effectively
Support the product teams with requirements related to platform governance ( risk management) ,and continuous improvement for platform governance suites of products and services
Work closely with engineering teams to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of product features
Coordinate and support platform reviews by 2 nd Line of Defense and Auditors ( internal/external)
Manage and conduct forums to collect inputs and discuss needs,issues, challenges for platform governance matters
Qualifications:
Experience working in complex data ecosystem, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders
Proven ability to translate complex business requirements into clear, actionable solution options
Ability to work with senior leaders, stakeholders and reviewers to develop and support platform governance charters
Strong interpersonal skills with a track record of collaboration across diverse, distributed teams
Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities
Passion for platform and product excellence, with the ability to clearly articulate technical capabilities and business value
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and product development cycles
Experience with enterprise data management ecosystem in a global financial or technology organization is a strong plus
Qualifications
Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually bonus benefits
