Enterprise Strategy grows high-potential colleagues into future leaders at American Express. Our team members develop deep subject matter expertise and leadership skills in stretch roles that unlock their full potential, working collaboratively with senior leaders across the company. Subsequently, our team members transition to take on key leadership roles within the business.

What can you expect as a Director in Enterprise Strategy?

  • You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders across the enterprise, including C-suite executives, to drive strategic initiatives that enhance the leadership position of American Express. You will establish yourself as a trusted thought partner to your business partners.

  • In addition to leading project teams, you will also oversee 3-4 direct reports. In your role as a people leader, you will enable the long-term development of your direct reports by providing ongoing coaching and support and leading the performance management process.

  • As a member of the Enterprise Strategy team, you’ll join a close-knit and supportive group of colleagues who put an emphasis on diversity of perspective, mentorship, fun, and a balanced lifestyle.

  • Outstanding project management skills, combined with effective stakeholder management and verbal/written communication

  • Experience coaching junior team members on all aspects of consulting projects, including workstream management, problem-solving, data analysis, and written & verbal presentation

  • Experience working with large corporate clients and proven track-record of building long-lasting relationships within and beyond project work
