The Global Risk & Compliance Organization (GRC) is an independent risk management function, led by the Chief Risk Officer, with the objective of ensuring that American Express operates in a safe, sound, and fully compliant manner with all applicable regulatory expectations. GRC creates and maintains the overall risk management framework, performs independent risk management assessments, and monitors applicable risks. The Global Financial Crimes Compliance (GFCC) Transaction Monitoring Rule Program Oversight (TMRPO) team is responsible for the oversight of the enterprise-wide anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CTF) transaction monitoring program at American Express. The program includes assessing, designing, and implementing AML and CTF detection strategies across all American Express products and services. These strategies ultimately generate alerts which are investigated by the Global Financial Crimes Investigation Unit (GFCSU) as part of the Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR) process.

Responsibilities

  • Support project planning and execution activities, ensuring timelines and deliverables are aligned

  • Support the development and distribution of project documentation (including risk assessment, business case, project charter documents, schedules, and project closures).

  • Ensure all efforts are accurately documented with consistent methodology, formatting, and version-control

  • Create, maintain, and monitor RAIDD logs to track project risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies, or decision

  • Monitor project milestones and assist in tracking project status against objectives

    • Work with stakeholders to identify, assess, and escalate project risks and issues for resolution
  • Support issue and finding remediation

  • Facilitate communication and coordination, tracking and following up on action items

  • Help prepare and manage CMC (change management control) requests and ensure required documentation and approvals are in place

  • Create, revise, and update procedural guides, including TM rule program manual

  • Track approval workflows and obtain required sign-off

  • Assist with Governance reporting by preparing regular status updates and dashboards

  • Collaborate with teams to support alignment with governance, audit, and regulatory requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2 years of work experience as a project coordinator or in a support role in a compliance environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities for interaction with stakeholders, escalation of issues, and procedural document updates

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize tasks efficiently and track documentation

  • Ability to work under pressure and remain agile and efficient.

  • Strong attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of tools and comfortable adapting to new technology Preferred Qualifications

  • Project management and /or CAMS certification (preferred)

Qualifications

Salary Range: $55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually bonus benefits
