DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Facilities Technician - HVAC/Mechanical - Level II to join our team specializing in Facilities for our Cummins Inc. facility in Ladson, SC.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Emergency Preparedness : Develop and manage the site's emergency preparedness program. Identify risks, create risk management plans for incidents like power outages, floods, and fires, and ensure the maintenance of emergency systems.

  • Facilities Maintenance : Regularly assess the condition of the facility, including systems, structures, interiors, exteriors, and grounds. Manage operations and maintenance activities and develop asset management systems for preventative maintenance using criticality analysis and predictive tools.

  • Facilities Operation : Oversee occupant services such as parking, janitorial services, food services, concierge, facility helpdesk, security, and safety. Manage the maintenance contracting process and develop operational planning requirements for temperature control, lighting, equipment replacement, and water treatment.

  • Facility Electrical Technical Skills : Troubleshoot, repair, and install electrical distribution systems, buss bars, breaker boxes, motors, and other electrical equipment to ensure the facility operates properly with reliable lighting and electricity.

  • Facility HVAC Technical Skills : Troubleshoot, repair, and install heating equipment, boilers, ventilation systems, chillers, cooling towers, air compressors, and other mechanical equipment to provide necessary heating or cooling for the facility, people, and production processes.

  • Safety Focus : Maintain safe work habits and actions in all tasks. Evaluate reactive work for safety issues, plan projects with safety as a priority, and review preventative work for potential safety hurdles.

  • Continuous Learning and Improvement : Attend classes and training programs to build skills and knowledge required for local certification. Participate in improvement projects and use problem-solving techniques to enhance processes and outcomes.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

Must meet the minimum educational requirements to start the apprenticeship or regional program.

Must pass all related testing.

Requires some work experience or intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Information:

In support of 24/7 production facility occasional emergency response, and overtime will be required.

Must be able to follow all safety and training requirements to complete Facilities related work to include but not be limited to:

  • Work at height.

  • Low voltage electrical <600VAC

  • Plumbing.

  • Use of tools and test equipment.

  • Operate powered industrial vehicles.

  • Cleaning.

  • Moving furniture.

  • First aid and emergency response.

Compensation:

Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
