Manager – U.S. Pricing Strategy and Execution
The Global Merchant Services (GMS) Pricing team is responsible for the single largest source of American Express’ revenue: Merchant discount revenue. GMS Pricing works closely with multiple partners to determine the ideal pricing structure for merchant acceptance of American Express, while striving to improve coverage and merchant satisfaction.
The Manager in U.S. Pricing Strategy and Execution is responsible for the project management and execution of strategic pricing initiatives in a compliant and rigorous manner by partnering within Pricing and across stakeholders (e.g., Marketing, General Counsel’s Office, Client Management, Technology, and Control Management). This role is responsible for reinforcing pricing integrity through the maintenance and longer-term strategy of complex merchant populations.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to gain deep knowledge of the merchant business, as well as exposure to and insight from Leadership across the Blue Box. The Manager should be a dynamic individual who can work closely with partners and leaders and has the right ambition to drive change in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate end-to-end activities for the timely implementation of pricing initiatives
Facilitate cross-functional collaboration among internal stakeholders (e.g., Pricing, Marketing, General Counsel’s Office, and Client Managers) to ensure alignment and readiness for pricing launches
Drive pricing integrity through the ongoing management of merchant populations with complex attributes and identification of longer-term treatment
Develop and implement scalable processes to investigate and resolve pricing discrepancies in partnership with Business Operations and Client Managers
Support the creation of comprehensive and understandable materials for stakeholders
Support the ongoing development of a robust pricing infrastructure and a strong control environment
Qualifications:
4 years of experience in consulting, project management, strategy, or related experience
Strong project management skills with full ownership of end-to-end execution, including documentation of key workstreams and tracking against deliverables’ timelines
Detail- and action-oriented individual able to work autonomously with limited direction
Proficiency in Excel and SQL data analysis and/or willingness to learn and develop
Proven ability to actively collaborate across teams as well as lead and contribute to discussions with partners and Leadership
Expertise in preparing PowerPoint presentations tailored to various audiences
Strong organization and prioritization skills while working in an agile manner
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Qualifications
Salary Range: $89,250.00 to $150,250.00 annually bonus benefits
