The Global Merchant Services (GMS) Pricing team is responsible for the single largest source of American Express’ revenue: Merchant discount revenue. GMS Pricing works closely with multiple partners to determine the ideal pricing structure for merchant acceptance of American Express, while striving to improve coverage and merchant satisfaction.

The Manager in U.S. Pricing Strategy and Execution is responsible for the project management and execution of strategic pricing initiatives in a compliant and rigorous manner by partnering within Pricing and across stakeholders (e.g., Marketing, General Counsel’s Office, Client Management, Technology, and Control Management). Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate end-to-end activities for the timely implementation of pricing initiatives

  • Develop and implement scalable processes to investigate and resolve pricing discrepancies in partnership with Business Operations and Client Managers

  • Support the creation of comprehensive and understandable materials for stakeholders

  • Support the ongoing development of a robust pricing infrastructure and a strong control environment

Qualifications:

  • 4 years of experience in consulting, project management, strategy, or related experience

  • Strong project management skills with full ownership of end-to-end execution, including documentation of key workstreams and tracking against deliverables’ timelines

  • Detail- and action-oriented individual able to work autonomously with limited direction

  • Proficiency in Excel and SQL data analysis and/or willingness to learn and develop

  • Proven ability to actively collaborate across teams as well as lead and contribute to discussions with partners and Leadership

  • Expertise in preparing PowerPoint presentations tailored to various audiences

  • Strong organization and prioritization skills while working in an agile manner
