Description
APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Architect and program software features in support of 3D rendering and simulation engine development, including augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). Design and implement Application Program Interfaces (APIs) to promote easy adoption of 3D engine features. Author functional unit and integration tests for corresponding software features to prevent regressions. Debug complex software bugs and regressions using debugging tools like lldb. Analyze and optimize non-performant rendering and simulation systems for multiple platforms. Utilize GIT-based workflows (via stash, GitHub) for code development. Perform code review assessments and provide feedback of software developed by team members. Write technical documentation for corresponding software features and API using documentation frameworks such as Doxygen. Contribute to cross-functional development projects with internal and external developers. Develop prototypes at the state-of-the-art of technology to find the best experiences for our products. Follow agile and waterfall practices, including the use of task planning and tracking software. Work closely with Apple's Human Interface design team to define the next generation of computing. Work closely with artists, designers, and engineers to define and prove new application concepts. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,713 - $214,500/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
2 years of experience with each of the following skills is required:
Experience with complex hierarchical data structures used for rendering and optimized LOD systems.
Software development using C/C++ to develop core frameworks functionality.
Experience with efficient data streaming and multi-threaded optimization techniques for improved rendering performance.
Experience with GIT-based workflows (via stash and GitHub) for code development.
3D Graphics stack and linear algebra to develop 3D software features.
Debugging software and graphics-related software problems.
Utilizing 3D authoring pipelines for API integration points for content creation.
Writing software routines for cross-process communication and network synchronization.
Experience converting data between coordinate systems and mitigations for potential data precision issues.
