The Data Solutions & Initiatives team supports Apple’s business leaders as they project, manage, and report on business performance. We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically strong Quality Analyst (QA) to ensure the accuracy and reliability of business-critical data powering Apple’s demand generation strategy. This is a high-impact role focused on assuring the quality of complex financial and hierarchical data across various platforms. You’ll collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to define test strategies, validate data integrity, and support the launch of high-visibility features.

Description

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Own the definition and execution of test strategies for business intelligence products and data pipelines
  • Design and implement test plans based on functional requirements, with a focus on financial and hierarchical datasets
  • Validate data accuracy across multiple systems (source ? ETL ? reporting) with both new development and regular data loads
  • Automate or streamline regression testing for recurring data validation scenarios
  • Partner with product managers and engineers to investigate data anomalies and triage live issues
  • Serve as the first gatekeeper for live production issues, owning severity classification and collaborating on resolution paths
  • Coordinate release readiness, including go/no-go decisions related to data and functionality
  • Manage and track issues in Jira (or equivalent), working cross-functionally to ensure timely fixes
  • Communicate QA status, risks, and outcomes to both technical and non-technical partners

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years in QA, Quality Engineering, Data QA, or similar roles

  • Proficiency in SQL for data validation and investigation

  • Experience in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban)

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical findings into clear business impact

  • Prior exposure to supporting production systems and managing data-related bugs or incidents

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience testing data pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, or data warehouse environments

  • Familiarity with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium, PyTest, dbt test, Great Expectations)

  • Knowledge of dimensional modeling, data warehousing, and business intelligence tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau)

  • Understanding of finance, supply chain, or demand forecasting concepts

  • Prior involvement in data migration or data integrity projects

  • Hands-on experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Quip, and Miro

  • Master’s degree preferred
