Description

APPLE INC has the following available in Austin, Texas. Develop and innovate processes to standardize local income tax and VAT calculations across the region, Tax accounts analysis, and reconciliations. Assist with Mexico’s direct tax compliance deliverables. Engage with our main stakeholders on Tax project implementations. Establish and implement consistent and effective processes across the Mexico, Colombia, and Chile entities. Ensure completion and successful implementation of ad hoc projects, making recommendations as necessary, and writing tax requirements to support business operations and geo expansion. Support local tax audits, which will include serving as the auditor contact, providing all data, and reviewing audit work papers and schedules. Liaise with external & internal advisors, including information request preparation and review, deadline tracking, and timely responses in both English and Spanish. Lead the ALAC review and preparation of the Mexico deferred and current income tax provisions for US and Local GAAP. Lead ALAC entity’s annual income tax package deliverables for US GAAP. Lead ALAC review and consolidation of quarterly indirect tax reports for US GAAP. Represent the team during projects and assist with testing system updates and enhancements related to tax compliance. 40 hours/week.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Accounting or related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation.

  • 5 years of experience with each of the following skills is required:

  • Speaking, reading, and writing in the Spanish language.

  • Utilizing reconciliation tools and experience reconciling procedures between local tax authorities’ electronic invoicing data and local tax accounting data.

  • Leveraging data analytics with local vendor e-invoicing reports and tax authority e-invoicing reports.

  • Utilizing Quip and BOX internal systems to document and analyze monthly tax reconciliations.

  • Designing and automating the reconciliation process to match rules and annual calculations in Mexico and Chile.

  • Experience in local value-added taxes and withholdings, including experience establishing and implementing standardization in tax reporting and calculation.

  • Experience implementing a tax reporting and reconciliation process for monthly electronic invoicing data.

  • Experience in the Latin American tax regime, including providing local tax compliance, tax calculations, reconciliations, and tax e-invoicing compliance, and experience in tax payments in Chile, Colombia, and Mexico.

  • Utilizing Tableau, GBI, SAP PD2, and Quip systems to improve tax compliance processes and payment accuracy.
