How will you make an impact in this role?

The engineer will be equipped to pave the Public Cloud journey for American Express for applications and platforms, with opportunities to design, build and engineer some of the core foundations pieces for AWS as part of the Cloud Platform Engineering.

  • Responsible to identify the building blocks needed to manage AWS Infrastructure

  • Helps in streamlining the procurement of AWS Accounts

  • Paves the foundational Networking and Security components needed for Amex applications and platforms to host on AWS

  • Builds the automation pipelines needed to scale the account orchestration workflows

  • Identifies potential gaps in the existing process to smoothen the customer/platform experience to use AWS as an alternate Cloud Provider alongside the Private Cloud Solutions

  • Able to apply the "secure-from-start" principle of Software development practices

  • Understands the complexity of multiple application/platform design patterns and strives towards building solutions

  • Is a good team player and foster a culture of togetherness in building Cloud Platforms

Minimum Qualifications

  • Good understanding of AWS IAM and AWS Networking Principles

  • Has a good exposure towards building AWS VPCs across multiple use-cases including knowledge in AWS Transit Gateway Associations, AWS NAT Gateways and AWS Direct Connect

  • Has built AWS IAM policies and Role bindings catering to multiple AWS Services with single and/or dedicated/shared access for multiple teams and/or users.

  • Has a good experience of building automation using bash/shell scripting

  • Has good experience in a programming language of choice, preferably Python/Java and/or Golang

  • Is familiar with Version Control Systems like Git or SVN.

  • Has good experience in using CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions

  • Is familiar with SDLC tools like JIRA and its lifecycle

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong experience in AWS Services like EC2, VPC, IAM and AWS Control Tower

  • Strong experience in Golang

  • Ability to build workflows using orchestrator tools using Github Actions and Conductor/Cadence SDKs

  • Strong in AWS Networking concepts to pave the on-prem services to AWS VPCs

  • Can design solutions around orchestrations

  • Is a good team player and collaborates with multiple stakeholders and partners

  • Can engage with AWS Architects and can propose solutions around some challenging problems

Qualifications

Salary Range: $85,000.00 to $150,000.00 annually bonus benefits
