The Apple Data Platform team within the Services organization builds the core infrastructure that powers analytics and machine learning across Apple’s ecosystem. We are seeking experienced engineers to drive the development of next-generation data platform technologies. Collaborating closely with engineering teams across Apple, you’ll create high-scale, reliable systems that meet stringent data requirements while upholding Apple’s commitment to privacy and security. Description
We provide advanced platforms and services to enable seamless data movement across Apple’s ecosystem, handling petabytes of data that impact hundreds of millions of customers worldwide. In this role, you’ll design and build robust data movement infrastructure to power Apple’s highly visible, global-scale systems, prioritizing exceptional usability, performance, scalability, and reliability. Collaborating with diverse engineering teams, you’ll help them integrate these platforms into their products, driving innovation and impact.

Minimum Qualifications
4+ years hands-on experience in designing, developing, and deploying data processing applications and frameworks.
Expertise at building jobs with Apache Spark using Scala.
Expertise at building micro-services using Kubernetes or similar experience.
Proficient in Go and/or Java, with understanding of recent language features and frameworks.
In-depth knowledge of SQL databases. Experience with distributed and cloud storage systems such as S3, HDFS, etc.
An ability to communicate with users and drive adoption, to troubleshoot and diagnose issues, and to work effectively with teams adopting our tools.
Ability to write and deploy well-tested production code. A drive for modern software engineering practices.
B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications
Understanding of data storage technologies, for example: serialization, schemas, file and table formats for large-scale data processing. Understanding of formats such as Apache Iceberg and Parquet is a benefit.
Ability to lead the development of systems. Expertise in defining product roadmap and delivering cross-functionally. Ability to mentor and guide other engineers.
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $135,400 and $250,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
