The U.S. Consumer Services and Membership Digital Experiences Technology team (USCDT) brings together foundational strategic technology capabilities in digital experience engineering (Mobile and Web), marketing and advertising technology, enterprise communications, travel and lifestyle, and dining services. It employs a ground-breaking focus with development responsibilities for customer-facing capabilities that deepen and expand digital engagement, as well as core technical capabilities that cut across business lines and customer segments.
Key Responsibilities
Leads, mentors, and coaches Senior Software Engineers and teams, fostering a culture of excellence, continuous professional growth, and knowledge sharing within the software engineering community
Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement talent acquisition and retention strategies, ensuring the organization attracts and retains top talent
Directs and oversees the successful development, deployment, support, and monitoring of software across various environments
Leads multiple software product development teams to realize the company's technology vision and strategy in a scalable, iterative environment
Drives innovation and experimentation to deliver software solutions that meet or exceed customer and partner expectations
Shares technology domain expertise with architects and specialists across multiple organizations to enhance technical solutions
Ensures frictionless automated delivery processes and empowers teams to succeed at scale
Collaborates with business and technology partners to motivate change and execute product roadmaps
Collaborates and co-creates effectively with teams in product and the business to align technology initiatives with business objectives
Education and Knowledge
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and/or comparable experience; advanced degree preferred
Knowledge of distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, NoSQL, and relational databases
Knowledge of the core tools used in the planning, analyzing, crafting, building, testing, configuring, and maintaining of assigned application(s)
Strong Experience in Agile development, code review, Workfront, AEM Assets & AEM Sites (Cloud), AEP Platform (AJO), Python, Google Big Query, Rest API, CSS, HTML, Java, Javascript, React, Spring framework, Redis, Relational database, Cloud computing, UNIX and Web Services.
Moderate or higher skill in SOA, Restful, Asynchronous and Microservices technologies for large scale environments.
Strong understanding and experienced in CICD and DevOps
In depth knowledge of Customer Marketing technology ecosystem and related programs is preferred
Knowledge of American Express Marketing & Data platforms a plus
The ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to non-technical individuals
Excellent verbal and written communications skills required, with ability to create and deliver effective presentations to executive leadership and technical architects across the organization is a plus.
Hands on experience with technology planning and road mapping
Proven track record to lead problem analysis and resolution
Work Experience
Software engineering and development experience or a related job
Must have 5 years of hands-on and leadership experience
Experience in leading and managing software engineering teams, providing technical leadership and mentorship
Experience in collaborating with senior stakeholders to drive software strategy and innovation
Expertise in application design, software development, and automated testing
Experience in distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, and relational databases
Experience in Agile software development methodologies and practices such as Scrum/Kanban, iterations, user stories
Experience in automation testing and documentation (i.e. automated, functional, and performance)

Salary Range: $144,250.00 to $256,250.00 annually bonus equity (if applicable) benefits
