Global Risk & Compliance (“GRC”) independently oversees the company’s compliance, risk-taking and risk management activities, including the comprehensive identification, management, and mitigation of risks within the Company’s risk appetite. GRC ensures the company operates in a safe, sound and fully compliant manner within all applicable regulatory expectations. We create and maintain the overall risk management framework while ensuring legal and regulatory compliance. The product group within Global Financial Crimes Compliance (GFCC) is responsible for building and implementing innovative technology solutions for GRC; owns the vision and roadmap for capabilities, platforms, and modernization efforts.
This is a stakeholder facing role that is responsible for process vision and roadmap, customer experience, business architecture, capturing and grooming feature requirements, prioritization, status tracking and reporting, defining process SLAs and controls.
The Product Manager leads transformation of risk systems, plays a central role in detailing the blueprint, and works in close partnership with stakeholders in Financial Crimes Risk Management (FCRM) American Express Technologies (AET) as well as external experts to arrive at the best design/solution and oversee its execution.
How will you make an impact in this role?
Collaborate with engineering teams, Business partners and other stakeholders during product lifecycle.
Clearly articulate the why, what, and how of the product or feature to Product Owners and constituents
Communicating the vision to broader stakeholders
Aligning on action items, owners, and due dates and tracking them to completion.
Take lead in Roadmap creation and Requirement gathering.
Manage the feature backlog using Agile Scrum methodologies, prioritizing features based on business value and user impact.
Translate software product roadmap into minimum viable product iterations.
Work closely with the Technology team to develop, test, and deliver the defined user stories for the platform capabilities and features and rapidly iterate new solutions through automation and demo/prototyping.
Own and accept all features for assigned scrum team or capabilities.
Review/demonstrate sprint-related or general functionality with external partners and customers, including the Director of Product Management and other colleagues.
Ensure that the appropriate tracking and reporting is in place to track performance post launch to evaluate future investment.
Understand and apply new trends and competitive best practices into requirements and team method of work.
Minimum Qualifications:
5 years of Product Management experience driving product implementation in an iterative approach.
A good balance of business acumen and technical knowledge with a proven track record of driving platform innovation with a customer-first mindset.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Information security, Mathematics, Statistics, or any other relevant qualification.
Experience in large scale Technology Modernization and/or Transformations.
Must have the ability to “connect the dots” between different requirements of different stakeholders.
An established background in launching software or services in partnership with engineering teams and high degree of proficiency in prototyping, iterative development, Agile, and SAFe principles.
Strong leadership with the ability to influence others through partnerships.
Must possess a growth mindset and creative thinking skills.
Build empathy with customers and end users knowing that the impacts of their work can be felt across multiple entities.
Strong knowledge of UI / UX development activities.
Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Agilist Certification is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
Financial Crimes business experience and related solution acumen
Experience in Machine Learning model development and deployment into a production environment
Experience in Generative AI, prompt engineering concepts, and implementation of GENAI production use cases and governance activities
Experience working in low code/no-code environments
Ability to evaluate product performance, define KPIs and monitor outcomes
Experience in evaluating data quality, performing data governance or implementing reporting tools
Qualifications
Salary Range: $103,750.00 to $174,750.00 annually bonus benefits
