Apple Arcade is looking for a seasoned Technical Producer with deep technical expertise and a passion for games to help support and elevate our growing catalog of premium titles. This person will serve as a critical bridge between Apple and our third-party development partners, offering expert guidance across implementation, technical compliance, and innovative new features—while being ready to dive deep into complex technical problems and speak fluently with engineers.

Description

As a Technical Producer, you will play a key role in reviewing and providing feedback on technical design documents, advising teams on Apple technologies and standard processes, and helping developers navigate platform-specific challenges. You will be the go-to resource for troubleshooting technical issues, ensuring seamless integrations, and upholding our service-level requirements—with a constant focus on player privacy, platform integrity, and the highest standards of quality.

This is a unique opportunity to influence the technical direction of Apple Arcade, drive innovation, and help craft unforgettable gaming experiences for millions of players.

You will:
- Review technical designs and provide actionable feedback to developers to ensure they align with Apple’s standards for privacy, performance, and platform integration.
- Provide expert support on Apple technologies such as Game Controller, CloudKit, Core Haptics, and GameKit.
- Help troubleshoot implementation challenges, answer technical questions, and provide hands-on guidance as needed.
- Define and maintain Arcade service-level technical requirements, and ensure consistency across all titles.
- Collaborate with internal producers, engineers, and QA to support games through the full development lifecycle - from concept to App Store submission.
- Identify areas for improvement in game and service experiences, proposing new ideas and features that players will appreciate.
- Serve as a champion for our game development partners, advocating for their needs, driving for new features, tools and documentation, and working cross-functionally to provide the best possible experience for Apple Arcade partners.
- Prototype implementation of best practices and support new feature testing to help guide technical decisions and to support partner adoption.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in game development, including significant hands-on experience in a technical engineering role, building and shipping high-quality games across multiple platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Passion for games and a deep appreciation for creating joyful, high-quality player experiences.

  • Familiarity with Apple Arcade's values and approach to premium, ad-free gaming.

  • Experiencing implementing various Apple frameworks including GameKit, CloudKit, Game Controller and CoreHaptics.

  • Ability to balance technical rigor with creative vision.

  • Passion for privacy, security, and elevating the player experience.

  • Familiarity with subscription services or live service game operations.

  • Extensive experience with native Apple development using Swift.

  • Proven success working on acclaimed, high-quality games across a range of platforms.

  • Expertise in interpreting and writing technical documentation, including TDDs and implementation plans.

  • Experience working with Unity and/or Unreal game engines.

  • Strong organizational and cross-functional communication skills.

  • Experience supporting games through development, submission, and live operations.

  • Bonus: Experience as a developer on an Apple Arcade title, with firsthand knowledge of the process, standards, and opportunities unique to the platform.

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
