Summary
Be a leading member of the Core OS Storage Drivers team creating next-generation storage technologies for all Apple platforms!
We are looking for a Storage Software Engineer with experience in system programming to contribute to our Storage Drivers projects: the low-level protocol drivers used to control internal and external storage across Apple's products.
Description
In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the kernel drivers used across macOS, iOS, tvOS, watchOS, and visionOS to provide support for a variety of storage technologies, such as NVMe, SCSI, AHCI, and SDXC. You will support all stages of product development, including early system bringup and new feature development. You will work closely with many teams, from silicon and hardware engineers up to framework and application developers to support system features including managing Apple Intelligence models.
Minimum Qualifications
Strong C/C++ programming skills and experience with multi-threaded programming
Experience with software debuggers (e.g. gdb, lldb) and tracing tools (e.g. dtrace )
Proficient in Operating Systems and kernel architecture
Bachelor's degree in CS/CE/EE (or equivalent, or related field)
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of relevant experience
Understanding of storage technologies and protocols (e.g. NVMe, SCSI, AHCI)
Familiarity with low level bus protocols such as PCIe, USB, and Fibre Channel
Experience using bus protocol analyzers
