Apple's Siri Quality team is looking for a passionate and skilled Machine Learning Engineer to join our mission of delivering the highest quality AI experiences to millions of users worldwide. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the highest quality of Siri by developing and deploying innovative machine learning solutions for automated testing, anomaly detection, and performance analysis. You will work on a diverse set of problems, from predicting potential regressions to creating intelligent systems that can identify subtle quality issues before they impact users.
Description
As a Machine Learning Engineer on the Siri Quality team, you will apply your expertise in machine learning, data analysis, and software engineering to drive the strategy and execution of large-scale evaluation efforts for Siri’s most advanced features. You will collaborate with top engineering, design, and product teams to define quality standards, build automated evaluation pipelines, and deliver insights that guide Siri’s development across iPhone, Mac, iPad, Watch, HomePod, Vision Pro, and more.

Minimum Qualifications
10+ years of industry experience in the relevant space.
3+ years of experience in machine learning, including hands-on work with LLMs.
Strong programming skills in Python and experience with ML/NLP libraries
Experience building or fine-tuning LLMs for software engineering tasks
Understanding of prompt engineering, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)
Experience developing LLM based automated evaluation frameworks
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Swift/XCTest/XCUITest is preferred
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills
Experience working with large-scale datasets, infrastructure, and/or data formats (e.g., JSONL, protobuf)
Experience with large-scale data processing (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) is a plus
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with shifting priorities
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,100 and $318,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
