Job Description
Purpose
As part of the global benefits team, this position designs, develops, communicates and manages the administration of benefits programs, specifically U.S./Puerto Rico retirement programs, and other health and welfare programs for AbbVie’s 55,000 global employees and 30,000 U.S./Puerto Rico employees and retirees. The benefits team, as part of the global Total Rewards team, seeks to deliver forward-thinking benefits globally that supports AbbVie's Talent Philosophy and Total Rewards Guiding Principles to attract and retain top talent, supports the diverse needs of employees through their life and career stages, and responds to the rapidly changing business and economic environment.
Responsibilities
Responsible for managing AbbVie’s U.S./Puerto Rico Retirement 401(k), pension and deferred compensation programs, including vendor management, compliance, audits, liaison with HRConnect Benefits Operations team, managing appeals, assisting with strategy recommendations, and implementing changes to programs.
Manages vendor relationships, establishes annual performance goals and ensures high quality delivery of benefits services to employees and retirees. Assesses the performance of benefits’ vendors through financial, utilization, participation, and quality data analyses. Keep management informed of vendor performance issues or potential employee impacts.
Responsible for retirement and health and welfare compliance which includes monitoring and researching upcoming legislation changes, 5500’s, policies and handbook updates, local and federal filings, and management of annual compliance calendar.
Works closely with HRConnect Benefits Operations team to optimize the employee, retiree and new hire experience with benefit programs, including portal content, HRConnect consultant FAQs, coordination with other vendor call centers and identifying process improvement opportunities. Provide Tier 3 support. Drafts individual employee specific communications as needed for escalated issues.
Project manages key benefit projects as assigned, which may include areas such as annual enrollment process, RFPs and implementation of new benefit programs, and M&A benefits integration. Manage cross-functional implementation teams.
Responsible for other health and welfare programs and vendor management as assigned.
Manages vendor/program financial trends, provide input into budgeting, fringe and LBE annual process.
Develops and delivers presentations to employees and management as needed.
Qualifications
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject area.
Individual contributor. No direct supervisory responsibilities.
Position requires 7+ years of U.S retirement experience. Prior health and welfare program experienced desired.
Strong project management skills. Experience leading large, cross-functional projects or implementations.
Strong critical thinking skills, consulting experience and a proven record of putting together complex strategic, operational or tactical recommendations.
Excellent analytical skills and ability to use data to tell a story. Proficient with a range of analytical tools. Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel.
Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to present to larger groups of employees and managers. Highly skilled in PowerPoint.
Disposition to work in a highly diverse environment with potential for cross-cultural and communication barriers.
Continuous improvement mindset.
Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. Salary: $106,500 - $202,500
