In this position, you will lead market development, offer planning, and strategic initiatives to broaden reach and accessibility for all US consumers across iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Accessories. By leaning into consumer, market, and reseller research and successfully managing key internal and external cross-functional partnerships, you will be able to identify meaningful trends, compound business intelligence, and scale business decisions across the extended organization. You will simplify, assess, and synthesize complex structures to communicate value via our carrier partners to end customers. Through your forward-thinking influence, collaboration, and problem solving skills, you will make an impact on Apple’s business for years to come.
Description
As part of the US Business Planning function, you will enable long-term growth via analytics of economic, end-consumer, reseller partner and competitor trends, and identify and evaluate present and future opportunities based on business intelligence standard methodologies. You will support senior sales leadership directly to drive increased performance and partner with Business Development and Corporate Market Intelligence teams and Finance to develop and oversee the multi-year US Carrier Business Plan. Your role is essential in finding opportunities, creating solutions and driving internal and external collaboration among key partners.
In this role, you will:
- Own synthesizing the market trends (i.e., industry structure, competitive behavior, consumer behavior and sentiment, macro economic evolution, reseller performance, ecosystem economics, etc.).
- Analyze market data to identify trends/opportunities, develop strategic direction, and create compelling market analysis presentations.
- Deliver overall and disaggregated analyses of sales performance (e.g., partner and product growth vs. market/sub-market, share changes, etc.) leading to practical, compounded insights for executive leadership.
- Oversee the development of strategic market/product line business plans and marketing programs to support sales in designated market segments.
- Identify new customer segment opportunities and business development areas through extensive research, rigorous account planning, and monthly / quarterly strategic reviews; Develops partnerships with volume and strategic customers.
- Support the evolution of innovative commercial strategies and collaborate with reseller partners to develop implementation plans of these strategic business development initiatives.
- Lead the carrier account planning process and planning tool deployment.
- Empower sales teams to plan and implement best-in-class account strategies to deliver substantial revenue and profit growth by deploying strategic insight generated by the Business Planning organization.
- Identify innovative analytical methodologies and storytelling visualization techniques to turn data into meaningful actions by tapping into tools and processes that can automate, self-serve and inform the entirety of the organization.
- Scale your knowledge across teams and be the expert on what is impacting the business and a resource for the entire organization.
- Communicate efficiently and effectively within the team and external senior management partners.
Minimum Qualifications
Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of related experience
Background in business development, strategy, sales, or similar function
Deep expertise in strategic planning and execution, including significant industry knowledge and broad-scale understanding of U.S. carrier and consumer routes to market (e.g., customer profiles, trends, challenges, opportunities, competitive landscape, etc.)
Strong analytical and business modeling skills in Excel, Tableau, and BI databases
Ability to recognize business opportunities through data, develop actionable insights, convert insights to strategic recommendations, and present findings to key stakeholders
Excellent collaboration and relationship building skills with the ability to influence cross-functionally, navigate partner organizational structures, and lead complex negotiations
Outstanding communication and executive presentation skills
Passion for “storytelling with data” to create a vision and motivate and inspire others
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree or MBA is a plus
Experience successfully managing C-level and senior-level relationships is a plus
Proven experience in consumer/business intelligence, consumer product marketing, product management, commercial management, market research, and /or planning.
Familiarity with category management and decision-making process of external customers.
Creativity to develop robust analytic approaches, translate deep business acumen into strategy, and build strategy into practical and measurable actions
Strong capabilities to develop new business models, simulate scenarios, and build innovative offer or consumer propositions and communications.
Comfort managing ambiguity and ability to aggregate information from multiple sources to formulate a cohesive strategy or direction
Forward-thinking approach, strategic agility, and tenacity to drive what matters
Expert organizational skills and attention to detail
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $182,600 and $274,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
