The position of ServiceNow Platform Automation Senior Manager will be a part of a dynamic and growing team within the GRCT organization at American Express.
The successful candidate will lead, coach and mentor an engineering team, drive technology excellence and ensure the successful execution of the project. The role requires a strong technology background in ServiceNow and DevOps enablement, leadership skills and ability to align engineering efforts with business objectives.
They will provide ServiceNow experience, using Business and Technology knowledge to help develop and implement business partner strategies on time and within budget. The candidate will engage in a wide range of activities across the portfolio, supporting functional capabilities and working primarily with other Managers, Engineers, Product Owners, Staff Architects and Staff Engineers.
Responsibilities include:
Lead, coach, mentor and grow a high performing engineering team.
Foster innovation, collaboration and technology excellence.
Define and implement engineering roadmap in alignment with business needs.
Drive tech excellence, establish and implement coding standards, architecture principals and agile methodology.
Collaborate with project manager and other partners to align with business goals. Ability to build positive relationships, operate effectively within large multi-functional teams, and influence business partners to drive ground-breaking change.
Conduct performance evaluations, career growth discussions and cultivate a culture of collaboration, learning and continuous improvement.
Works with program delivery team and align team around the long term roadmap.
Identifies gaps, provides feedback, and proposes changes to implementation timeline and roadmap.
Provides inputs to product owners and engineering leaders with recommendations to drive program level objectives and goals.
Provides input into technology roadmap and architectural direction based on product roadmaps. This can include supporting product evaluations through tooling recommendations based on gaps/needs, as well as helping to identify 3rd party technology and security strengths/gaps as period assessments of tooling as business/climate needs evolve and products offered change.
Minimum Qualifications:
3 years as Senior Engineering Manager leading highly technical and autonomous teams.
Strong background in system architecture and engineering standard processes.
Experience leading automated governance, deployment pipeline automation, or other developer experience programs.
Experience using applicable programming methodologies: JavaScript, API (Restful), XML, Java, Angular JS.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills demonstrated by the ability to present complicated technology solutions to multiple audiences, from the technology team to Senior leaders.
Overall 12 years of software development experience.
BS or MS Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other technology subject areas.
Preferred Qualifications:
Hands-on experience with ServiceNow configurations, workflows, scripting, UI policies, ACLs, Integrations and CMDB.
5 years Agile experience as well as hands on Scaled Agile Framework experience.
Experience managing Generative AI capability development.
Qualifications
Salary Range: $123,000.00 to $215,250.00 annually bonus benefits
