Description
APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Create physical prototypes of designs, while utilizing modeling computer-aided design (CAD) programs such as NX. Set up and quality check tools in support of machining parts to assist Apple in creating high-quality models used in the industrial design and product development process. Interpret and define the design intent of the industrial designer using NX software while directly collaborating with mechanical engineering, packaging, and tooling teams to evaluate the feasibility of design concepts. Perform non-computer numerical control (CNC) tasks, including non-CNC equipment operation, hand-work, operations, inspections, and saw-cut operations. Calibrate and quality check complex tools and machining parts for use in the industrial design process. Utilize various inspection pins and block gages, calipers, and micrometers. Utilize knowledge of raw crafting materials, their integration into consumer products, and the volume/inventory required. Use data and analytics to develop numerous product concepts, detailed appearance models, and product-level surfaces used in tooling for manufacturing. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $122,300 - $184,600/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Industrial Design or related field.
Experience and/or education must include:
Creating and modifying CAD data, including using computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software such as NX or Solidworks.
Setting up high-speed 5-axis and 3-axis Mikron CNC machines, including loading raw materials, installing cutting tools, and inputting program parameters.
Operating Mikron CNC machines using a Heidenhain controller.
Inspecting finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
Identifying and troubleshooting issues with Mikron CNC machines and Heidenhain controllers.
Performing routine maintenance tasks on MikronCNC machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn components.
Recording production data, including machine settings, tool changes, and inspection results.
Using power tools such as table saws, bandsaws, lathe, sanders, manual mills, sandblasters and drill press.
Using multiple different CAD software such as Solidworks, NX, and Rhino.
Using 3d visualization software such as Keyshot, and using Adobe illustrator and photoshop
