Summary

Imagine a world where you are helping define our customer’s first experiences with Apple products at hundreds of thousands of stores across the world! Apple is seeking an enthusiastic leader to direct and grow the capabilities of the Retail and Events Product Design (REPD) and Channel Store Product Design (CSPD) teams. We are a diverse group of engineers who design integrated hardware solutions for retail spaces and special Apple events like new product announcements, developer conferences, and store openings. These solutions are engineered to showcase the product, enrich the customer experience, minimize environmental impact, and champion the Apple design approach
Your team’s scope of ownership will span technology development and concept generation to detailed design, analysis, and testing through mass production of simple to complex electromechanical assemblies as well as small to large furniture elements. We operate under much ambiguity, and you should be skilled in bringing clarity to your team and peers. We value leaders who can provide both deep technical insight along with a commitment to developing the skills and capabilities of the team. We are seeking excellent communicators who are able to fluently debate and strategize with cross functional partners, present to executive leadership, and motivate growth within your team.

Description

You and your team will have a uniquely rewarding opportunity to drive product definition of new generations of retail displays and merchandisers while collaborating with teams from Industrial Design and Visual Merchandising, to Manufacturing and Operations. Through it all, you will be given ownership of designs that will surprise and delight customers in what is often their first interactions with a new Apple product.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to articulate design issues in quantitative terms both verbally and with documentation

  • Passion for functional design and an appreciation for detail

  • Experience designing with wood and large scale structures
