Description

At American Express, our culture is built on a 175-year history of innovation, shared values and Leadership Behaviors, and an unwavering commitment to back our customers, communities, and colleagues. As part of Team Amex, you'll experience this powerful backing with comprehensive support for your holistic well-being and many opportunities to learn new skills, develop as a leader, and grow your career.

Here, your voice and ideas matter, your work makes an impact, and together, you will help us define the future of American Express.

About the Role

Global Real Estate & Workplace Services (GREWE) is seeking a Digital Workplace Experience Manager to design and deliver the digital ecosystem that shapes our global workplaces and how work happens at American Express. This role ensures that digital tools actively enhance the employee experience, connect seamlessly to the built environment, and generate the insights needed to evolve both.

The Digital Workplace Experience Manager sits within the Global Workplace Strategy team and operates at the intersection of experience design, technology, and data integration. The Digital Workplace Experience Manager will partner with GREWE, Digital Workplace and Colleague Experience team members to evaluate and shape the digital layer of the workplace, ensuring that tools, platforms, and systems support employees while also providing the feedback loops that inform workplace design and performance.

Responsibilities:

Digital Workplace Experience Design

  • Define the principles for a coherent digital workplace experience that aligns with American Express’ global workplace strategy.

  • Evaluate and implement collaboration, productivity, and employee experience tools with Digital Workplace and Colleague Experience partners.

  • Ensure digital platforms are intuitive, human-centered, and create a cohesive experience across diverse regions.

  • Collect feedback from employees and operating teams to continuously refine digital experience.

Data-Enabled Experience Insights

  • Use data as a design input to influence the digital, physical, and cultural ecosystems in American Express’ global workplace by combining surveys, tool usage, and workplace performance metrics to inform how we can evolve.

  • Maintain dashboards and reporting tools that highlight the relationship between digital experience and built environment performance, and it’s influence on the broader colleague experience.

  • Translate data into clear insights for strategy and program teams — with the focus on improving employee experience, not just reporting numbers.

Global & Local Coordination

  • Partner with regional teams to deploy tools and ensure integration at the ground level.

  • Balance global consistency with local flexibility in digital workplace rollouts.

  • Act as a connector within GREWE and with partners in Digital Workplace and Colleague Experience, ensuring all perspectives are integrated into digital workplace design.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7–12 years in digital workplace, employee experience technology, or workplace strategy roles

  • Strong grounding in experience design principles — with a human-centered approach to digital tool selection and deployment.

  • Familiarity with workplace technologies (collaboration platforms, workplace management, booking systems, experience apps, sensors, analytics) and ability to integrate them into a cohesive experience.

  • Skilled at working across IT, HR, and Real Estate functions to balance technical requirements with user experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience designing and managing digital workplace ecosystems that integrate tools, platforms, and physical workplace systems.

  • Proven ability to manage global rollouts and adapt digital experiences to local contexts.
